Bubba Watson – Golf’s Good Guy

Bubba Watson slid on that retro looking green jacket for the 2nd time in 3 years this Sunday at Augusta. The two-time Masters winner walked off the 18th green with the first major win of the season.

There were tears. There was his baby boy Caleb, whom Bubba and his wife, Angie, had adopted just prior to his Masters win in 2012. There was a genuine good guy coming off four quality rounds of golf.

Bubba Watson is known as one of the longest drivers on the PGA Tour. He is a Georgia Bulldog. So is his wife. Both were athletes at Georgia and both she and their two year old son Caleb were there Sunday to greet Bubba after the 18th.

Two year old Caleb stood in his green and white stripped shirt waiting for his father to scoop him up after his emotional victory. Bubba then went on to high five fans as he made his way to the clubhouse. It was truly a historic moment for the world of golf. Bubba Watson is now 1 of only 17 golfers to win multiple Masters. He joins the ranks of other golf legends like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Ben Hogan among others (and yes that list even includes Tiger and Phil Mickelson). Tiger was absent this tournament, and Mickelson unexpectedly missed the cut.

Bubba is a breath of fresh air to the PGA Tour. He fought off 20 year-old Jordan Spieth, who ended up tied for 2nd, in the final round this Sunday. With two major wins now under his belt, look for Bubba and his pink driver to be in the mix all year long.
