Why It’s Essential To Dream

Personally, I am a huge believer in dreaming. I think that no dream is too big; I think that every dream can be accomplished. I don’t know if I just have  far fetched mind, or just a mind for success and glory. I have friends who have no direction in life and it honestly scares me. Those without direction have a greater chance of veering off course- whether we like to think it or not. I have friends who are going to college and don’t even know what they want to study; they are just wasting money. I have friends who are doing things they hate doing, every day of their lives. Here are some words of advice…

1. Do what you love, and love what you do.

Make a life for yourself out of what you like doing. Be able to afford the necessities first, and then move bigger. If you don’t like school, don’t go; find an alternative. If you don’t like your job, find another one. Easier said than done, of course, but be ambitious.

2. Find a hobby, an interest, or something you love learning about.

Carry it out. Pursue it. Write about it. Create bigger thoughts to bring you to a bigger picture.

3. Have a plan.

Like I said in 1 & 2, make a life for yourself and pursue it. If you don’t have a plan, you are sure to lead yourself to chaos.

To dream, by textbook definition, is to contemplate the possibility of doing something. Theres the keyword- possibility. I look at life as a never ending list of possibilities just waiting for me to try them out. A dream, by textbook definition, is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep. What do you think about before you go to sleep? I think about the future and the life I’ll lead. Will I be a famous journalist? Will I live in the city? And here I am trying to pursue my dreams- writing for a website. I also print and cut pictures of manhattan rooftops and the NYC skyline as inspiration for the life I want to lead. I look up cheap apartments for after college. I look at job openings and so on. Look for inspiration and be open minded when it comes to planning the life you’ve imagined.

I believe that dreaming has gotten everyone famous/successful/happy to where they are right now. It’s essential to dream because everybody deserves to live the life they have always wanted. Nothing is impossible.  “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” honestly has valuable lessons: “Have faith in your dreams and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is breathing, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wished will come true.” Trust me, you’ll thank me for those lyrics later.
